What is your DJ coverage area?
Sterling Sound Entertainment is located in Concord and will travel anywhere within the greater metropolitan Charlotte Area. This includes Mooresville, Huntersville, Kannapolis, Harrisburg, Matthews, Monroe, Pineville, Fort Mill, Rock Hill, Lake Wylie, Gastonia, Shelby and all areas in between.
How do we book your DJ services?
Contact us so we can discuss your entertainment needs. We will put together an entertainment package based on your needs which will includes pricing. Once you approve your package we will send you an online contract. We require a 50% deposit with a signed contract to hold the dates for you. Once the contract and the deposit are received by us we will hold the date(s). Sterling Sound Entertainment books on a first come first serve basis. The first signed contract we receive for the date with a paid deposit will get the date. The deposit must be made when the signed contract is returned. The remaining balance is due no later than the day of the event.
Will you be available to answer questions prior to our Event?
Definitely! We will meet in advance to discuss the details of your event. Additionally we will provide our contact cell phone number and we can be reached at any time to address any additional questions or concerns prior to your event.
How far in advance should we book Sterling Sound Entertainment's DJ services?
We recommend booking your Sterling Sound Entertainment DJ as early as possible. DJs are typically booked as much as a year ahead of time. In some cases we are able to accommodate last minute booking, but it really just depends on how busy we are.
How early will our DJ arrive to set up?
Your DJ will arrive approximately one hour prior to the scheduled start time of your event unless other arrangements have been made. It typically takes about forty-five minutes to set up so this allows us to be set up before guests arrive.
How does your DJ dress for a formal event?
If the event is formal we will typically wear a suit or tuxedo, depending on your preference. If the event is less formal we will dress accordingly for your special day.
Do you provide a written contract?
It is extremely important to have your booking confirmed in writing. Sterling Sound Entertainment will provide you with a written contract outlining the terms of the service(s) being provided. We will sign the contract and send you a copy to retain for your records. It is important to have a contract which guarantees your DJ services.
How do you price your DJ services?

Do you charge for mileage or set up?
We do not charge for mileage or set up. The contracted price includes travel, set up and take down time. Our pricing is inclusive of travel.
How do you handle overtime?
If you are having fun and want your Wedding DJ to play longer we are happy continue our performance. You can purchase additional time by paying overtime at the beginning of the hour. All overtime is purchased on an hourly basis and the cost for overtime is outlined in your contract. Overtime must be payed via cash or check prior to the DJ continuing their performance.
How do we pay for your services?
Sterling Sound Entertainment currently accepts personal checks or debit/credit card payments via PayPal.
What types of equipment do you use?
Can you provide microphones for toasts, announcements, etc?
Certainly. We provide two wireless microphones to be used during your event, and we alway have two wired microphones on hand for backup.
Do you have back ups for your equipment?
Sterling Sound Entertainment offers the latest in DJ sound and light equipment. Although our equipment is reliable, we do maintain a full back up plan for each piece of equipment in the event of equipment failure. This includes a back up music library which contains all of your special songs and celebratory favorites.
What type of music do you play?
Sterling Sound Entertainment maintains an extensive selection of music consisting of 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, Club Dance, Classic Rock, Country, Oldies, Big Band, Motown, R & B, Rap, Disco, and Hip-Hop. We have everything from the 1940s to today’s top 40, so we can accommodate all ages. Your Sterling Sound Entertainment DJ will discuss with you in advance what types of music you want played during your event and we will perform accordingly.
What types of music do you play during dinner and cocktail hour?
Sterling Sound Entertainment can accommodate anything you would like to hear during your dinner & cocktail hour. We typically suggest something low key such as Jazz or Classical Music played at low volumes so your guests can socialize during this time. It is your event so just let us know what you want us to play and we will gladly accommodate.
Can we pick which music to play?
Absolutely. You can pick what music to play. You can submit as many songs as you would like to hear and your DJ will be happy to accommodate your needs. Sterling Sound Entertainment can also assist in curating all the music for your event in advance if you so wish.
How long will our DJ play music?
The amount of time your DJ will play is totally up to you. You can decide in advance how long you want your DJ to perform and the price will reflect the time frame. Typically, most celebration entertainment lasts about four hours. If you wish the DJ to play longer you can purchase additional time the day of the event.
Will our DJ take guest requests?
Certainly. Sterling Sound Entertainment will work with you prior to your event to determine the specific styles and individual requests that you would like to be played. Sterling Sound Entertainment can also encourage your guests to make requests (if you approve).
Will our DJ act as an Emcee during our event?
Yes, your Sterling Sound DJ will act as an Emcee during your event. This is one of the services we offer that is key to the success of your function. Your DJ will make all announcements and ensure the event stays on track.
